'Love is like', el nuevo clásicazo de Maroon 5: "Tu amor es como las drogas...

Maroon 5 ha celebrado el lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum de estudio, Love is like, publicando el videoclip de la canción que, precisamente, da nombre al álbum. Y tanto viendo la propuesta audiovisual del grupo como escuchando la melodía y la letra de este tema uno se da cuenta de por qué la formación californiana eligió este tema para representar su nuevo proyecto musical. Es un hit se mire por donde se mire.

La canción, que el grupo comparte en una colaboración explosiva con el rapero Lil Wayne, no puede empezar de una manera más rotunda e impactante: "Tu amor es como las drugas y tenía una maleta llena de ellas". Y no solo la parte lírica es una auténtica barbaridad sino que la fusión del pop, el hip-hop y un toque funk lo hace de lo más pegadiza.

El vídeo ha sido dirigido por Aerin Moreno (conocida por su trabajo con Tate McRae y Tyla). La producción estuvo a cargo de Radiance Pictures, y cuenta a cámara lenta una mañana llena de cambios para un Adam Levine al que le posee la música de su propia banda.

Love Is Like es el segundo corte del álbum y uno de los más destacados por su potencia melódica y su mensaje sobre las complejidades del amor moderno. El sencillo se suma a una lista de canciones que conforman el nuevo trabajo discográfico de la banda, el primero desde Jordi (2021). Este nuevo LP marca un regreso a las raíces pop-funk del grupo, con una producción más orgánica y arreglos que combinan sintetizadores, saxofón y percusión.

El álbum incluye colaboraciones con artistas de renombre como Lisa de Blackpink, quien participa en Priceless, y Sexyy Red, que aporta su estilo en I Like It. Además de Priceless y el reciente Love is like, Maroon 5 también ha presentado antes del lanzamiento del disco los temas All night y California con el que profundiza en esta vuelta a sus orígenes musicales y sonoros.
