Del cine a tu móvil: Taylor Swift estrena el videoclip de 'The Fate of Ophelia'

El universo artístico de Taylor Swift no conoce límites. O al menos no en todos estos años en los que la hemos conocido en diferentes facetas y escenarios. Su última entrega, The life of a showgirl, ha llegado con un estreno diferente a los anteriores. Si habitualmente los artistas saben de la importancia de un impacto visual en el lanzamiento de su disco con un videoclip potente, la solista lo ha fiado todo a las fiestas de estreno en los cines.

Pero 48 horas después de que buena parte del mundo haya podido disfrutar del estreno de algunas de las creaciones audiovisuales de la intérprete para el álbum, la exclusividad ha terminado y ahora podremos redistfrutar del vídeo una y otra vez.

Porque The fate of Ophelia es una auténtica delicia para los ojos con cabaret, referencias artísticas y televisivas, homenajes a estrellas como Marilyn Monroe, guiños a su prometido Travis Kelce y hasta una vikinga Taylor Swift de cabello pelirrojo que nos encanta (casi tanto como la rubia, la morena, la estrella musical, la joven musa...).

El significado del vídeo y la canción

Se trata de una canción que toma como punto de partida la trágica figura de Ophelia, personaje de la obra Hamlet de William Shakespeare. En la obra, Ophelia representa la vulnerabilidad emocional frente al amor no correspondido de Hamlet y la presión social. Su destino, volverse loca y ahogarse, se ha convertido en un símbolo de la devastación romántica.

El video comienza con Swift imitando el cuadro de John Everett Millais de Ofelia, la heroína condenada de Hamlet para ir dando paso a distintos tipos de mujeres showgirls de distintas épocas incluyendo un alter ego en forma de actriz llamada Kitty Finlay. Cada una de estas eras va representada con su correspondiente color (blanco, rojo, negro, plateado...) que parece que estarían vinculadxs a sus distintos proyectos discográficos.
