‘Beat Yourself Up’: Charlie Puth presenta su nueva canción con un mensaje esperanzador

Charlie Puth vuelve este 2026 pisando fuerte. Y lo hace con un nuevo disco, Whatever’s Clever, que se publicará el próximo 27 de marzo y contará con temazos como el que ha publicado esta misma madrugada, Beat Yourself Up, y una gira mundial que tendrá dos fechas en España, el 8 de julio en Barcelona, y el 9, en Madrid.

El cantante estadounidense, que lleva sin publicar música desde el lanzamiento en 2022 de su último álbum de estudio, Charlie, lleva promocionando su nuevo disco desde finales de 2025. Los afortunados que acudieron a la presentación de Whatever’s Clever en Nueva York y Los Ángeles los pasados septiembre y octubre, pudieron escuchar ‘en primicia’ todas las canciones que componen la nueva creación del artista. Entre ellas, este nuevo tema que nos invita a no ser demasiado duros con nosotros mismos.

El significado detrás de 'Beat Yourself Up’

En octubre del año pasado, el autor de éxitos musicales como We Don’t Talk Anymore y Attention publicó Changes, el primer single que se podrá escuchar en su nuevo disco. Tanto este tema, como el recientemente publicado, Beat Yourself Up, nos muestran otra cara del artista, más maduro y reflexivo con sus letras. Ha pasado a una nueva fase en la que da consejos de vida a cualquiera que escuche sus temas, sin dejar atrás su esencia pegadiza, divertida y poética.

Así, en Beat Yourself Up - en español, ‘castigarte a ti mismo’ - nos anima a no machacarnos demasiado ante la adversidad, los problemas que se nos puedan presentar en la vida, o los errores que podamos cometer. Reflexiona, como si estuviera hablándole a un amigo, sobre lo dura que se vuelve la vida de vez en cuando, y sobre los sentimientos de ‘destrucción’ que todos llegamos a experimentar más de lo que deberíamos por ello. Entonces, con un pegadizo estribillo, nos anima a seguir adelante, y como dice el título, no castigarnos a nosotros mismos.
