Después de empapelar las calles con misteriosos carteles y cambiar su foto de perfil en redes sociales, Troye Sivan vuelve a la actualidad musical con She's The Best.
Se trata del primer adelanto del álbum homónimo, que verá la luz el próximo 9 de octubre. Para este lanzamiento, el artista australiano ha contado con una compatriota de excepción, Nicole Kidman, protagonista del videoclip dirigido por Gordon Von Steiner, con el que comienza a dibujar el imaginario de esta nueva era.
Y es que no es casualidad que haya decidido abrir esta etapa con la canción que da título a su cuarto LP. She's The Best no solo es una oda a la mujer y a su diversidad, sino también un abrazo a la feminidad a través de lo queer y del arte drag.

Para ello, el cantante ha contado con figuras como Sasha Colby, Serena Tea o Beau Jangles, entre otras reinas drag, además de su propia hermana, Sage Mellet, a quien describe como "guapa, divertida y capaz de pelear". Asimismo, asegura que "siempre supo que tenía algo especial dentro", una frase que dialoga con su propia aparición como drag queen, una faceta que mostró por primera vez en One of Your Girls.
Su regreso al drag también puede interpretarse como una evolución respecto a aquel tema. En esta ocasión, la caracterización femenina no parece responder a una fantasía romántica ajena, sino que se presenta como una expresión más integrada dentro de su propia identidad.
Así, el vídeo da cabida a distintos tipos de mujeres, cuerpos y realidades: empresarias que se quedan dormidas en el autobús, jóvenes que plantan cara a los incels y al acoso online como hobby, aficionadas a la halterofilia, mujeres mayores, lesbianas o personas que mantienen relaciones poliamorosas.
Por otro lado, la participación de Nicole Kidman no podría llegar en mejor momento. Y es que la actriz confesó recientemente a British Vogue que, durante sus viajes a Ibiza, suele escaparse de rave con sus amigos. Una afición que encaja a la perfección con la atmósfera nocturna y festiva de este single donde comparte pista de baile con Troye Sivan en una celebración de la feminidad, la libertad y la cultura queer.
