Ed sheeran ha publicado esta semana Sapphire, el tercer adelanto del disco que verá la luz el próximo 12 de septiembre bajo el título de PLAY. Un octavo disco que, además, marcará el inicio de una nueva saga musical tras la pentalogía de símbolos matemáticos.
La canción, tal y como contó en Del 40 al 1 Coca Coca el pasado sábado junto a Tony Aguilar, "fue la primera que terminé para el álbum que dio sentido al proyecto. Bebe un montón de la cultura de la India, de sus ritmos y fuimos allí a grabarla con un montón de compositores y arreglistas de la zona". Y eso es precisamente lo que se puede ver en el vídeo musical que ha compartido.
Es más, el estribillo incluye un verso en hindi: ਚਮ-ਚਮ ਚਮਕੇ ਸਿਤਾਰੇ ਵਰਗੀ (Cham cham chamke sitare wargi), el cual se traduce al español "como una estrella brillante".
El artista británico ya ha interpretado Sapphire ―que significa "Zafiro"― en algunos conciertos de la gira, como sus dos shows consecutivos en el Riyadh Air Metropolitano de Madrid que tuvieron lugar el 30 y 31 de mayo. Además, en la segunda fecha también estrenó otra canción de su siguiente proyecto, llamada Opening.
El sencillo describe lo que siente una persona cuando disfruta de la compañía de ese alguien que, simplemente, resplandece. Su brillo natural y la luz que irradia lo ilumina todo, hasta en lae anoche más oscura.
